A little update about what’s going on here. Yesterday (Wed) I got the opportunity to go on a photo-shoot in Austin. This time I was flying solo, just me art directing the shoot. I’ve been on a couple before, but I was more “along for the ride&lrdquo; that actually directing the shoot. I was kinda nervous about it, but my boss briefed me pretty thoroughly on the design the photo was being used in and what we were looking for, so I was able to take charge and make sure I got the shot we wanted. I was a great experience for me, I can be a little unsure of my abilities at times, but it sees that when I really need to get out and use them, I find the confidence to get done what needs to be done. I felt pretty honored for the opportunity, I’ve only been there a week and a half, it’s a pretty big step.
I discovered the other day that Spymac has finally given 1/5 Art its own gallery space. also, in the blurb on the homepage, there is a link to my 1/5 Art entry here on my little old site. Pretty cool. I didn’t even think anyone was reading this. :-p Now that I’ve become the de facto 1/5 Art definer (is that a word?) I decided I’d sift through the juvenile comments and get back into the community. I haven’t been much of a regular lately, I’ve been getting tired of all the flamewars and adolescent attitudes of some of the newer members there. School will be starting soon, and that usually means that the kids wont be on as much.
I was looking through the 1/5 art Gallery and saw some pretty good stuff posted, and there seemed to be a lot more people participating. Now, I am inspired to make some more art. I made a new piece this evening. I also found out recently that my buddy’s GF works in an art gallery and is responsible for booking artists for shows, maybe I’ll get some 1/5 pieces together and have my own show. There might be someone here is SA who would like my stuff.
well, that’s all for today, gotta go sleepy-sleepy
peace,
Mixtli
